A teenager has died after he was hit by a lorry on the M1 near Garforth.
The 19-year-old male was walking on the slip road to the southbound stretch of the motorway when he was knocked down, shortly after 5 o'clock this morning. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The vehicle involved was a white DAF articulated lorry.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision itself or if anyone saw the pedestrian prior to the collision to contact them on 101. Please quote log number 192 of 29 December when calling.
