Time away working in the world of Local Government has given Liam a unique insight into how the organisations that shape the lives of those who govern us work, and what makes those in charge tick.

Now back at the site he created, now rebooted as TheSelebian, Liam combines his day to day editor duties with writing on local government matters in Selby.

Reprieve for Selby area wind farm plan

A decision on whether to grant planning permission for a wind farm on land near Birkin has been deferred at a meeting in Selby tonight.

Revised Council Tax bills are due be sent to homes across the area later this week as Selby District Council looks to put right it’s costly billing error.

A decision to refuse planning permission to turn a former mushroom farm near Thorpe Willoughby into a permanent base for show people has been overturned on appeal.

Man arrested following town centre assault

A 28-year-old man has been arrested, and remains in police custody, following a broad daylight attack in Selby Town Centre yesterday.Police have appealed for witnesses to the serious assault which happened on the Gowthorpe pedestrian crossing at around 2.30pm on Monday.
