The botched festive message was switched-on alongside the town's other decorations during a big event in the Market Place on November 30th.
Soon after the button was pressed a number of eagle-eyed townsfolk pointed out that the sign hadn't been installed properly and didn't make a whole lot of sense. Initially reading 'Merry Selby Xmas Town From Council', there was even speculation (mostly in the Selby Online office) that the message could have been from the Jedi Master of the High Council, penned by Yoda himself.
A number of other failed illuminations also appear to have been mended this evening, with all illuminations shining brightly in the town for the first time since they were 'switched-on' ten days ago.
Selby Online has made a series of requests for information from the town hall about the quality, quantity and cost of this year's meagre festive offerings. Sadly, to date, the Town Council has been most reluctant to cooperate in our enquiries and is no longer responding to our messages.
