A 31-year-old man from Selby has been arrested over allegations of allotment burglary in York.
The man was arrested just after 6:30 this morning after a member of the public reported seeing a man breaking into a shed on Heworth allotments.
Officers made their move after seeing a man matching the description of the alleged perpetrator pushing a tool-laden wheelbarrow down a nearby street.
The man is suspected to have stolen a variety of allotment gear including drills, watering cans, a leather toolbelt containing screwdrivers and a can of oil. He currently remains in police custody at this time.
