Man receives 'puncture wound' to neck during Millgate attack

Police investigating a late-night disturbance on a Selby street have released further details relating to the incident.

A local man, aged 30, was taken to hospital following an altercation, suffering with what police have described as a 'puncture wound' to the neck.

Officers confirmed yesterday that two men were in custody over the violent incident which took place shortly before midnight on Monday night.

We now know that the arrested individuals are a 22-year-old man from Selby and a 36-year-old man from the York area. Both have now been released on bail as enquiries continue.

Crime Scene Investigation officers were visible collecting evidence and photographing blood on the pavement during Tuesday morning.

Police have not yet confirmed to The Selebian whether any weapon had been recovered in relation to the incident.
