A motorcyclist has died following a collision with a car near Cawood.
The incident occurred at around 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon when the rider's Suzuki motorcycle came into collision with a silver Mercedes CLS on the B1222, Bishopdyke Road.
Police have confirmed the motorcyclist, a man aged in his thirties, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released, but he is understood to be from the Goole area.
The two occupants of the car were not injured in the crash.
The road was closed for several hours to allow for police enquiries.
