A restauranteur from Sherburn has been fined more than £2,000 after admitting breaches in food safety procedures.
Carol Coley, 57, the food business operator at the Wheatsheaf Hotel appeared at York Magistrates Court yesterday to face charges over the breach.
Prosecutors from Selby District Council alleged Hygiene Improvement Notice following the discovery of a number of food items which had exceeded the ‘use-by’ date. Ms Coley pleaded guilty to the offence but stated that the hotel has now taken steps to address the issue.
She was fined a total of £2,299.00 and warned that the environmental health officers will continue to monitor the situation and check for future compliance.
