TheSelebian is an independent, local news service based in Selby, North Yorkshire. It is our mission to provide the Selby area with a source of timely, factual and trustworthy source of local news and information.

Our editorial area covers the major urban area of Selby Town and extends to the wider Selby District including the towns of Tadcaster and Sherburn as well as smaller settlements including Barlby, Brayton, Riccall, South Milford and Camblesforth.

The service was established in 2000 as Selby Online, a community website for the town of Selby. We have expanded over time, to become TheSelebian, your primary source of online local journalism and local info for the local area.

Our mission is to:

• Publish news accurately and timely
  Because when stories of importance break you shouldn't have to wait while Thursday to read about them.

  Investigating issues that matter to those who live in and around Selby.

  We won't tell you who you should vote for or how you shound feel about any particuar topic or cause.
