The fire broke out at around 11:30 on Sunday morning when the unattended candle had set fire to clothes hanging from the bedroom door.

Two engines from the Selby Fire Station attended the blaze but the fire had been extinguished by the occupant prior their arrival.

Damage was apparently limited to the bedroom where approximately 25% smoke damage was sustained.
