Selby parking row reignited for primetime BBC show
The continuing row over the way parking tickets are handed out in Selby looks set to be reignited over coming weeks as Selby stars in a TV documentary.

The BBC's fly-on-the-wall Parking Mad programme, filmed in locations across the country, has followed the plight of under-pressure parking wardens, fine collecting bailiffs and motorists who have fought back... and won.
Selby is set to feature in the second episode in the series and was filmed shortly after parking offences were decriminalised in the area, bringing enforcement under the influence of North Yorkshire County Council.
New stricter controls sparked outrage amongst the town's residents and town centre business owners and reached boiling point as it emerged that the number of tickets issued had increased five-fold under NYCC.
The series comes as a number of local authorities, including NYCC, have been accused of using parking regulations as a cash cow to plug budget deficits during lean times.
Parking Mad starts this Thursday at 9PM on BBC One HD.
