Violent racist wanted for prison recall

A thug with a string of past convictions for violence is wanted for recall to prison.

Christopher Norton, who was jailed in 2024 after pleading guilty to attacking and using racial slurs against a woman in Selby, is being sought by police after allegedly breaching the terms of his licence.

At the time, the court heard that Norton, now 45, had caused his victim to suffer fractures to her face and blinded her in one eye.

He has a string of convictions for other violent offences including knife crimes and squirting amonia into a man's face during a street brawl.

North Yorkshire Police is now conducting extensive enquiries to locate Norton and have appealed for help in finding him. He is believed to be in the York area.
