Shoppers tempted to shop local this Christmas with free parking in town today
Shoppers in the district are being reminded that they can park for free at all Selby District Council’s pay and display car parks today, as the Christmas shopping season intensifies.

Christmas shoppers can park for free on Saturday 7th December, on Saturday 21st December and on Christmas Eve, Tuesday 24th December - ideal for last minute present shopping and buying festive treats and nibbles.
The decision to offer free parking before Christmas for two years is designed to support local businesses.
Selby District Council’s Executive member for Communities, Cllr Chris Metcalfe, commented, “This is a great time of year to visit Selby, Tadcaster or Sherburn to see the range of small independent shops and bigger stores that we have.
