15:00 An eventful night...
Last night's stormy weather has now passed and we can all look forward to the next low pressure system heading in towards the British Isles as we speak.
North Yorkshire Police have sent us a list of some of the storm related call-outs they have attended over the last 24-hours:
Tree down blocking road at Fairburn, near Knottingley
Power lines came down onto the A19 at Burn
Tree down in Ulleskelf near Tadcaster
Large branch in road at Oxton Lane in Tadcaster
Branch fallen from tree blocking Colton Lane at Tadcaster
Tree down on Wetherby Road in Tadcaster
Tree down on road between Tadcaster and the village of Newton Kyme
Tree down on A19 near Chapel Haddelsey
Tree down Stillingfleet Road, Escrick
Tree down at Askham Richard south of York
Tree down on the A19 at Riccall
Tree down Mill Hill, Escrick
Tree down East Common Lane towards Barlow
Slates blown off roof of Forrester’s Arms at Carlton
In addition trains through Selby were cancelled between 19:00 and midnight after winds caused major damage to the roof at Selby Station. -

07:08 and 08:11 trains to Manchester Piccadilly showing as cancelled on departure boards at Selby Station.

22:15 Selby Station Update
Following damage to Selby Station roof, distruption now expected until midnight tonight. This from TPE....
Owing to emergency engineering works at Selby all lines are blocked.
Impact: Train services between Leeds and Hull may be cancelled at short notice. Disruption is expected until 23:59 12/02.
Customer Advice: No trains are able to run between Leeds and Hull. Due to the poor weather conditions NO alternative transport can be provided. Passengers may travel to to/from Doncaster on Hull Trains services. An update will follow within the next 45 minutes.
