Selby's tastebuds gear up for celebration of great local food and drink
Foodies across the area are beginning to lick their lips in anticipation as Selby's first open-air food and drink festival prepares to take over the town centre.

Selby's Market Place will play host to around 40 producers of high quality local grub with those looking to sample a tipple or two will find themselves more than catered for with event at the Town Hall.
The event is the brain-child of Richard Sharp of Mollie Sharpe's Cheese & Deli on Finkle Street who has run two smaller events in the town over recent years.
This year, with the formation of the Selby Food Festival Committee and the great cooperation of sponsors and Selby Town Council, it has been possible to expand the event into the open-air town centre take-over planned.
The festival begins at 9am tomorrow morning on Finkle Street and in the Market Place where it is set to run through until 4pm. After 4pm the event moves to the Town Hall where a vast array of wines from around the globe will be available to sample by the glass until 10pm.
Tickets for the Town Hall wine event are available from Mollie Sharp's Cheese Shop prices at £5. The open air event in the Market Place is free to enter.
