30 jobs as Poundworld confirms Selby opening
Retailer to take over vacant Brantano unit.

Yorkshire retailer Poundworld has announced that it will open its first store in Selby creating 30 new retail jobs.
Opening Thursday 7th April at 10am, the new Poundworld will be situated at Lakes Retail Park at the former Brantano store next to Aldi and Pets at Home.
One of the UK’s leading value retailers, Poundworld will be unveiling its 320th store in Selby as part of an ambitious expansion plan to open 60 new stores this year creating 1,800 jobs.
The 4,000 square foot super store will offer local shoppers fantastic savings on supermarket prices. Offering over 5,000 products for the bargain price of £1, there will be incredible value offers on a range of items including groceries, cleaning, health and beauty, pet care, toys and stationery.
Thousands of top branded items will be on sale at the store including Coca Cola, Colgate and Johnson’s at one consistently low price, helping customers to save more on their weekly shop.
As part of opening celebrations there will be face painting, free product samples and a guest appearance from Poundworld’s money-saving mascot, Percy the Pound.
