Witness appeals after motorcyclist suffers nasty injuries in Sherburn crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a road traffic collision near Sherburn in Elmet.

At around 7.40am on Sunday 10 May 2015, a blue and white Suzuki GSXR motorcycle collided with a blue Vauxhall Corsa on the B1222 at Newthorpe.

Both vehicles were travelling in the direction of Sherburn in Elmet at the time of the collision. The motorcycle was travelling in a group of three bikes.

The rider of the motorcycle, at 51-year-old man from Liversedge, West Yorkshire, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary suffering from fractures to his spine, shoulder, ribs, leg and pelvis. His injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening.

Officers are investigating the incident and are appealing to anyone who saw any of the vehicles prior to the collision occurring.
