Public meeting to examine next steps after Tadcaster floods

Senior representatives from agencies involved in the response to recent flooding in Tadcaster are to attend a public flooding forum.

Residents attending the meeting will hear from representatives from the Tadcaster Emergency Action Group, the Environment Agency and Yorkshire Water as well as key personnel from the county and district councils.

Those speaking are hoping to use the event to keep the town up to date on current work being undertaken by the agencies and what they plan to do next.

The forum will be held at the town's Riley Smith Hall from 7pm on Monday, February 8th but limited capacity of just 360 persons mean strict limits have been imposed on those wishing to attend. Attendance is by reservation only, with two spaces available per reservation.

Tadcaster's current bridge woes mean a special bus service will be laid on to run those wishing to attend to the hall from the town's bus station at 6:16pm, returning at 9 o'clock.
