Road repairs prompt nighttime closure on Selby route
Affects those using the A645 at Eggborough.

Weekend repair works taking place on a Selby area road will force two overnight closures.
The A645, south of Eggborough, will be closed between 7pm and 7am on both Friday and Saturday nights with a short diversion route signposted throughout.
It is being closed following the discovery of a failing movement joint close to the roundabout where the road meets the A19.
News of the closure comes as maintenance on the nearby High Eggborough Lane bridge and Snaith Bridge are reaching their conclusion. Traffic restrictions in those areas are due to be lifted at the weekend.
County Councillor Don Mackenzie, Executive member for Highways, said: “We are aware this will cause some inconvenience, although the diversion is relatively short. The alternative was to use four sets of lights on the roundabout, which would have caused delays on all approaches and made the area more congested than the closure. For this reason and the safety of the contractor, the closure was decided as the best course of action.’’
