Serious road crash closes road near South Milford

The incident occurred at around 4pm this afternoon on the B1222 close to Newthorpe, South Milford.

A car and motorcycle were involved in the collision which a police spokesperson has described as "serious".

The road has been closed to allow emergency services to deal with the casualties and to allow collision investigators to examine the scene.

It is expected that the road will be closed for several hours.
