Burglary arrests following police response to Camblesforth Road incident

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary after an incident in Selby on Wednesday evening.

Police were alerted to intruders at a commercial premises on Camblesforth Road, Selby, at about 8.15pm on Wednesday 16 December.

Officers immediately contained the area, deploying Response officers, Road Crime Team officers, a police dog unit and the police helicopter.

About an hour later, Road Crime Team officers stopped a blue Peugeot 306 on the A1041. A number of tools - including saws, wire cutters and a screw driver - were recovered, and two men, aged 17 and 27, both from the Selby area, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary. They remain in custody at this time.
