Motorcyclist and passenger seriously injured in Sherburn crash

A motorcyclist and his passenger have suffered serious injuries after they were involved in a crash with a car near Sherburn.

The collision happened at around 1pm on Saturday lunchtime on Bishopdyke Road (the B1222) and involved the motorcyclists and a silver Ford S-Max. 

Both persons on the motorcycle, a 53-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman from the West Yorkshire area, sustained serious injuries in the collision and were taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment.

The driver of the Ford, a 29 year old woman from the Selby area, is currently helping with Police with enquiries.

Police have urged anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them as a matter of urgency.
