Driver who killed local man warned he could be jailed

A man who killed a pedestrian while driving near Brayton has been warned he could be sent to jail.
Ryan David Jones, 24, was at the wheel of his Vauxhall Corsa when he struck local man Richard Grainger, 43, who was out walking in August last year. Mr. Grainger was treated by paramedics at the scene but died soon after.
The 24-year-old appeared before York and Selby Magistrates' Court earlier today where he entered a plea of guilty to causing death by dangerous driving. His case will now be transferred to crown court for sentencing on April 27.
