Riccall House Fire: Main Street closed as fire brought under control

The main route through a Selby area village was closed several hours today whilst fire fighters tackled a fire in the roof of a residential property.

Crews rushed to the property on York Road in Riccall just after 9 o'clock this morning when the alarm was raised.

Main Street was closed for most of the morning whilst the blaze was put out by fire fighters using upto six fire engines, including an aerial ladder platform.

Buses including the Arriva 415 service between Selby and York were diverted during the incident.
