Trading Standards warning over Hillam Tarmac 'rogues'

Officers from North Yorkshire Trading Standards are investigating having received reports of rogue tarmac sales in a Selby area village.

Complaints received follow the age-old pattern of workmen knocking at doors claiming to have leftover tarmac available and offering to lay drives. The consumer is then charged an inflated price and are allegedly intimidated into paying up.

Anybody who has seen such groups operating in the local area is asked to notify the police on 101 or Trading Standards on 03454 04 05 06.
