Arrest follows alegation of serious sexual assault in Volta Street

Police were called to the property on Volta Street this weekend after receiving reports that a woman had been attacked. The woman, understood to be in her 30s, is currently receiving the support of specially trained officers.

Police officers were seen to be standing guard at a Volta Street property throughout the day, yesterday. Forensic and Crime Scene Investigation teams had also been sighted entering the property earlier in the day.

A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and was later released on police bail.

Further enquiries are currently ongoing.
