2nd Carlton fire blamed on arsonists

Another fire in a Selby area village is thought to have been started by arsonists.

Firefighters were called to reports of derelict chicken sheds on fire on Mill Lane, Carlton, just after 8 o'clock on Saturday morning.

Crews arrived a short time later where they tackled the blaze with two hoses, one main jet and ceiling hooks. Breathing apparatus were also required by those fighting the fire.

The incident occurred just three days after around 200 tyres and a quantity of illegally-dumped waste was set ablaze on land off the nearby Mill Lane. Both fires were started at a similar time of the day.
