Police talk down man standing on wrong side of Selby bridge barrier
Police were called to Selby's Old Toll Bridge overnight, following reports of a man 'standing on the wrong side of the barrier'.

The alarm was raised at around 2:40am this morning when emergency services were dispatched to the scene.
Police, fire and ambulance services all attended the incident and the man was eventually persuaded to return to the safe side of the railings by police negotiators at around 5.20am. He was taken to hospital in York for medical assistance.
The bridge was closed to both vehicles and pedestrians until the incident was brought to a conclusion and re-opened in time for the morning's peak commuter time.
Last night's events follow a similar incident earlier in the month when police talked down a 23-year-old local man who had been threatening to jump from railings on the same bridge.
