Fines for couple taken to court over planning breaches

A couple have been prosecuted after failing to comply with a council planning enforcement ruling.
Selby District Council took Christina and Gary Scaife to court after they were found to be using land at Blackwood Pig Farm, North Duffield for domestic purposes without proper planning permission.
They appeared before York Magistrates Court yesterday where they were each given fines of £100 and ordered to pay costs and charges totalling £1260.
