Bungling thieves damage £40k caravan in failed theft attempt
Police are investigating after a caravan in a Selby area village was damaged during an unsuccessful attempt to steal it.

The would-be thieves tried to take the £40,000 Bessacar caravan from outside an address in Hillam, South of Monk Fryston, at around 19:20 yesterday evening.
It is thought that a dark-coloured 4x4, possibly an Isuzu trooper, was used during the attempt on Hillam Hall View in the village.
But the would-be thieves failed to properly secure the caravan to their vehicle. The caravan became unhitched from the 4x4, sending it rolling into a neighbours tree. A glass solar panel was ripped from the roof during the incident.
The damage caused has been estimated at around £25,000.
Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or knows who is responsible to contact them with information.
