Suspect sought over Selby Station bike theft

BTP officers would like to speak to the man pictured after a new bike was stolen from the cycle rack at Selby railway station.

The new bike, a Halfords Carrera TDF, which had just been bought by its owner, a 37-year-old local woman, was locked and secured in the station's cycle rack.

A man, who was wearing a Superdry anorak and white trainers, possibly Puma brand, entered the station at around 12.20pm and hung around for about 30 minutes before approaching the rack and stealing the bike.

If you know him please contact us on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting PSUB/B8 of 27/1/2016. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

We’d also like to hear from anyone who may have been approached to buy the bike, which is a limited edition racing bike in light grey with yellow and white detailing, frame number AJU32167.
