Woman arrested as man dies in Tadcaster motorbike crash

A motorcyclist has died following after colliding with a car in Tadcaster last night.

The crash occurred at around 5:20 yesterday evening when a Triumph motorcycle and a red Vauxhall Astra came into contact on Toulston Lane, close to Tadcaster Grammar School.

A local man, aged in his 60s, suffered fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 44-year-old woman from the Barnsley area was driving the Astra at the time of the crash. She was arrested by police at the scene but later released on police bail as enquiries continue.

Anyone who who witnessed the collision or saw either of the vehicles before the crash took place is urged to contact the police on 101.
