A19 junction fully open as Barlby roundabout complete

A busy junction on a main arterial route into Selby has returned to normal operation this morning, following the completion of a new road layout.

Built at the northernmost end of Barlby, the new A19 roundabout is intended to improve road safety at the increasingly busy junction.

Contractors from Howard Civil Engineering have been onsite since late September with speed restrictions, traffic lights and road closures affecting the route at various times throughout construction.

The final signs and equipment were removed from the junction during yesterday evening, with the first roadworks-free commute taking place this morning.
