Sherburn tyre fire: Man arrested as investigation gets under way
A man has been arrested as investigations commence into the cause of a massive fire that took hold at a Sherburn recycling plant last week.

The 51-year-old local man has been arrested in connection with the investigation and later released on police bail as enquiries continue.
The joint investigation includes officers from both North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue and is still said to be in its early stages.
Emergency crews received first reports of the fire at the Newgen recycling plant 8.37am on Thursday morning. By later that evening the fire had substantially grown to the point that as many as 1.8 million tyres were thought to have been engulfed.
Although now significantly reduced in size and under control, the fire is continuing to burn with the fire service expecting to remain on site for the next two weeks or so.
A plume of smoke from the fire, which at the fire's height was visible from space, is now much lighter in colour and dispersing in the wind.
