Theory of Everything and Whiplash come to silver screen in Selby

Another four great films are set to be shown by Selby Globe Cinema between now and the end of the month.

From moving recent Academy Award winners to heart-warming vintage silver screen action there's something for everyone in the latest offer from Selby's community cinema.

A 2014 British biographical coming of age romantic drama film directed by James Marsh and adapted by Anthony McCarten from the memoir Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen by Jane Wilde Hawking.

Whiplash (15)

A 2014 drama written and directed by Damien Chazelle based on his experiences in the Princeton High School Studio Band. Starring Miles Teller and J. K. Simmons, the film depicts the relationship between an ambitious jazz student and an abusive instructor.

A 1935 screwball musical comedy film in which Fred Astaire plays an American dancer named Jerry Travers, who comes to London to star in a show produced by Horace Hardwick.

Into the Woods (PG)

A 2014 American fantasy musical drama film directed by Rob Marshall, and adapted to the screen by James Lapine from his and Stephen Sondheim's Tony Award-winning Broadway musical of the same name.

The movies are to be screened at Selby Town Hall will general admission tickets priced at £4.00. Kids holiday cinema costs £1.50.
