Power outage affecting Selby area homes

Engineers are currently working to fix a series of powercuts affecting homes in the Selby area.

Problems with overhead lines caused around 650 homes to go dark shortly after 6:15 this morning.

Areas affected include Barlby, Riccall, parts of Selby and the surrounding villages.

As of 9 o'clock around 80 homes are still without power. Northern Powergrid it hopes to restore power to these properties by around 10:15 this morning.
