Police probe cyclist's 'assault' on girl, 8

Police are appealing for witnesses after an 8 year old girl was allegedly assaulted outside her home in Carlton.

The incident happened at around 4.30pm on Thursday, October 15 when a cyclist is said to have hit the child over the head.

Police investigating the incident would like to speak with a white man who is described as wearing black cycling lycra, a black helmet and bright orange glasses. The bike he was riding is also described as black.
