New site is one stop shop for local advice
A new website has been launched to help local people get advice and information from key local services.

Selby Advice is a new umbrella organisation established using funding from The Big Lottery fund. It is a network of local charitable and voluntary sector organisations that provide advice, information and support in the Selby District.
Mayor of Selby, Cllr Rosie Corrigan, was there for the site's official launch where she added her endorsement of the project, "This new website will be an excellent resource for both network members and the public alike, with many other local providers also able to use it to identify what advice and information help is available in Selby District.
"The work you all do to make a difference in society is often not visible and does not make the headlines, but be assured, you are valued, and today is a great opportunity to showcase what you do."
Katy Frost, the network co-ordinator said, "The website is a great result of our member organisations working together and I hope it will help local people. You never know in life when your personal circumstances might suddenly change and you need somewhere to turn to for help. I hope over the coming months to build on the success so far to ensure that local voluntary and charitable services are recognised for the contribution they make to the lives of local people."
As well as providing a source of information to local people the website will also enable local agencies to continue to work together more effectively in the future.
