A briefing session for prospective candidates intending on standing in the Police and Crime Commissioner Election for North Yorkshire Police Area, which will be held on Thursday 5 May, and their election agent, will be held by Janet Waggott the Police Area Returning Officer (PARO) for North Yorkshire.
The session will cover the nomination process, the key dates of the election timetable, general information on the election campaign, including postal voting and arrangements for the counting of votes.
The session is open to both independent prospective candidates and those prospective candidates with the intention to represent a political party.
The event will be held on Tuesday 2 February at the Ryedale House, Malton, North Yorkshire YO17 7HH, from 5pm.
Candidates and election agents are advised to contact the PARO’s office to confirm they intended to attend.
