Girl 'grabbed' on Selby playing field

Police are appealing for information after a girl was assaulted on a Selby playing field.

Officers were brought in after the girl reported being 'grabbed by the wrist' by an unknown man whilst out walking on the field to the rear of St John Mews, on the edge of Selby's Flaxley Road estate.

The incident occurred at around 9:00pm, yesterday evening.

The girl managed to struggle free from her attacker's grip and ran to safety. The male is reported to have disappeared quickly at this point.

Police would like to speak with anyone who may be able to help them to identify the male involved in the incident.

He is described as being around 5' 5" tall with a 'very pale complexion'. At the time of the incident he was wearing dark blue jeans and a plain black hoodie.
