More traffic misery as key arterial Selby route goes one-way in March
Road users in Selby are to be hit by another month of traffic misery in March when a major route is to be closed to inbound traffic.

New Street will be out of bounds to all motorists coming into town from the Old Toll Bridge from Sunday, March 1st. Traffic will still be able to flow out of town using the busy route.
Some disruption will felt by passengers of Arriva's 4, 415 and 416 bus service as a result of the partial closure. Those services will now head back into town via Selby bypass meaning those who would normally alight on Barlby Road will now need to walk or catch a connecting service back out onto Barlby Road.

News of the latest temporary closure will come as another bitter blow to Selby's long suffering motorists and business owners alike.
Several high profile closures over recent years have caused gridlock through the town during peak times and lead to concerns amongst the towns business fraternity of Selby becoming a 'ghost town'. The most recent of these closures was in Scott Road where the whole street was shut off to motorist for more than two weeks during November whilst works to install a few metres of electrical ducting for a new crossing took place.
