Pedestrian who died in A19 crash was Brayton man

A man who died when he was struck by a car on the A19 near Selby has been named by police.
Richard Grainger, who was 43 and from Brayton, was hit by a Vauxhall Corsa while walking on the A19 on Sunday, August 28th. He was treated by paramedics at the scene but died soon after.
A passenger, travelling in the Corsa, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary, where his condition remains serious.
Two men were arrested in connection with the crash and have since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
