Police search boat yard over drugs warrant

Police executing a drugs warrant have searched land in the vicinity of Selby Boat Centre.

Officers descended on the Bawtry Road yard on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 19 as they carried out the warrant, issued under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Eyewitnesses described seeing a large police presence throughout the general area, including sniffer dogs and even armed officers.

A spokesperson for the force confirmed the pre-planned operation, adding, "A search of the property and the surrounding land was carried out, but no arrests were made and the investigation is now ongoing."
