One word: Doubtfires!

Selebians will enjoy a dose of spring this weekend as an area of high pressure parks itself over the country.

Temperatures of between 15 and 16°C (~60°F) are to be expected in our neck of the woods, marking a bright start to British Summertime.

Saturday is currently looking to be the best day for a walk into Brayton Barff or along Selby Canal. Temperatures on Mothering Sunday falling off by a couple of degrees, but still suitable for a trip to the garden centre.

Of course, no article about the arrival of pleasant weather to these lands would be complete without a nod to other areas of the continent, where usually reliable temperatures are suddenly somewhat lacking in the Mercury department. In this case, we smugly draw your attention to both Madrid and Lisbon who appear to be set for a tepid Saturday with paltry highs of just 12°C.

We'll be raising a Doubtfires' to the chilly people of Madrid on Saturday afternoon.

♦ Don't forget! Clocks go forward one hour at 1 am on Sunday morning.
