MP makes last call for musicians to Rock the House
Selby MP Nigel Adams has called on local musicians to enter a national music competition to be in with a chance of winning equipment, studio time and even festival gigs.

The competition, Rock The House, is sponsored by the music industry and supported by celebrity Patrons including Queen’s Brian May and US pop-punk rockers, All Time Low.
The competition offers the opportunity for musicians and bands to submit a track online and have their work judged by professionals in the music industry.
Shortlisted artists will be invited to regional heats and subsequently to a showcase final in London. The musicians can win prizes ranging from festival slots, studio time and professional equipment.
Nigel Adams MP said, “I urge all local musicians and bands to enter Rock the House. The prizes are impressive and all nominations will be judged by music industry experts. Most importantly, its a fantastic opportunity for exposure in a very competitive business which has been dominated recently by bands and artists put together via TV shows.”
All Time Low lead singer Alex Gaskarth added, “When Nigel asked us to get involved with Rock the House and become Patrons, we immediately said yes. It’s a great way for musicians to get noticed on a national stage. We started out when we were at High School so we know how important getting noticed and getting a [lucky] break is”
All Time Low, who are currently touring the UK with a sell-out tour, formed whilst studying at a High School in Baltimore in 2003 and were named last year’s best international band by Kerrang! Magazine. They have so far released five best selling albums.
