Flytippers facing fines after successful prosecutions
Four people have been fined after being found to have illegally dumped waste in locations across the Selby district.

Three separate cases were brought at York Magistrates Court this week, where total fines and costs have totted up to £2,350.
John Marshall, 25, of the Gables, Holmes Lane, Selby and was found guilty in his absence of failing to ensure that household waste was correctly disposed after bags of household waste were found dumped on Denison Road, Selby. The waste was traced back to him and he was subsequently fined £350, ordered to pay costs of £500 and a victim surcharge of £35.
Danielle Clayton, 24, of Woodville Terrace, Selby was found guilty in her absence of failing to ensure that her household waste was correctly disposed of after bags of household waste were found dumped near the garages of Woodville Terrace. She was fined £350, ordered to pay costs of £500 and a victim surcharge of £35.
Christopher Bowes, 25, and Kayleigh Maxwell,24, of Clark Terrace, Leeds were also found guilty of failing to ensure that household waste was correctly disposed of after a collection of household waste including a padding pool, child's slide, bike and toys were found dumped at Laith Staid Lane, Sherburn of Elmet.
The two are formerly of Wolsley Croft in Sherburn in Elmet. They both pleaded guilty and received a conditional discharge for six months and were must pay costs of £295 and a victim surcharge of £15 each.
Selby District Council, prosecuting the offences, took action as part of its zero tolerance approach to fly tipping. They say every case reported to the Council is investigated and will taken further where the offence can be proven.
