Local man injured in town centre assault
A man has had to be taken to hospital after he was assaulted in a town centre alleyway.

The alleged assault occurred at around 3pm on Wednesday when a man disturbed two youths he thought were acting suspiciously in a snicket between Londesbrough Street and Raincliffe Street.
Following the man's challenge of the youths, he was was knocked to the ground and suffered bruising to his face. He was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The suspects are both described as teenagers who are around 5ft 9in tall and were wearing dark clothes and scarves. One of them had a pedal cycle with small wheels.
PC Heather Wilkinson, of Selby CID, said: "If you witnessed this assault or can help to identify either of the suspects I ask that you come forward and contact the police straight away."
