Trading standards warnings over Tarmac gangs

North Yorkshire's trading standards teams are advising residents to be weary of groups offering 'left over Tarmac' for sale.

The warning comes as an increased number of local residents and businesses have reported being offered Tarmac driveways and pathways from persons claiming to be workmen from nearby road works.

The council warns that these workmen are often bogus, the work completed is likely to be of poor quality and vastly overpriced. Residents are warned not to engage with these workmen but to report the incident to North Yorkshire police on 101 or to North Yorkshire trading standards on 03454 040506.
