Bypass bridge in one-day closure over 'urgent repairs'

Selby's troubled bypass bridge is set to close for a day of urgent repairs.

North Yorkshire County Council needs to replace jack seals on the bridge's central pier. It says the bridge must be opened to the river while this work takes place.

Resulting, the bridge will close to A63 traffic from 9.30am on Monday, 10 April, and will remain closed until the work is complete. 

Barring any complications, the council says it expects to have the road reopen before 8 o'clock the same evening. 

A signed diversion will be in place throughout the closure.
