Police in warning over fake fifties

Police in Selby have warned traders to be vigilant after a spike in the number of cases of forged notes being used in the Selby area.

In particular, they say a number of fake £50 notes have been used to purchase very low priced items in order to get legal tender form store cashiers.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said, 'Please be aware and if anyone has any information please ring 101'.
