Business networking opportunity at local Enterprise Day

Local business networking event planned for end of the month.

Business networking opportunity at local Enterprise Day

Local businesses will be networking, show-casing and sharing knowledge and experiences again at the second Selby Enterprise Day on June 29th.

Following the success of the inaugural Enterprise Day last year, Business Services York & North Yorkshire (BSYNY) - in conjunction with 4Networking (4N), Selby District Council, the Enterprise Partnership and the European Regional Development Fund – will be welcoming local businesses and entrepreneurs to this free-to-attend day, which will consist of workshops and presentations, along with a trade exhibition with over 32 exhibitors offering free business advice at 1-2-1 clinics.

The event, taking place at Selby District Council's offices on Doncaster Road, will be opened by local Business Coach, Debbie Connors of Evolving Perspectives, and speakers include Simon Barker of Sandler Training Yorkshire on sales skills; Rebecca Craven of Rebecca Craven Marketing on the role of social media in business; and Caroline Andrew-Johnstone of Fasprint Ltd, who will be talking about the importance of effective networking.

Caroline explained “I’ll be giving some tips and practical advice on how to be a good networker and how to get networking to work for you. I’ll also be telling everyone about how 4networking has helped me and my business.”

BSYNY’s Heidi Green, who helps to organise the event, said “Anybody looking to start or grow their business in the Selby area should attend. I firmly believe networking is absolutely vital to build up a base of trusted people, raise their profile and gain invaluable information. Joining a regular networking group, such as 4Networkong, takes away the isolation than can come with running your own business. 17 of the 32 exhibitors are members of 4N and lots of other 4N members will be attending this event.

With groups meeting over breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the country, 4Networking is the UK’s only joined-up business network -  with no compulsory attendance or forced referrals - that gives its members the chance to attend over 5,000 meetings up to 5 days a week – with a guaranteed three one-to-one business meetings every time. With a friendly and flexible approach, these meetings are more than just business, with new friendships blossoming and valuable support networks being established.
